Chief of Staff

We’re operating with more clients, more active deployments, and more inbound interest than at any point in our history. Something has to give — and it won’t be quality. We’re bringing in a Chief of Staff to run the machine while leadership stays focused on architecture and client outcomes.

The Opportunity

Stackgrid is at an inflection point. Our client base has grown significantly over the past year, our delivery velocity has nearly doubled, and inbound demand continues to outpace our current operational capacity. The principals of the firm are deep in technical delivery — which is exactly where they should be. What’s missing is an operator who can hold the organization together: managing timelines, coordinating cross-functional work, owning internal processes, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks at scale.

What You’ll Own

You are operational leadership. Your remit is as wide as the firm needs it to be:

  • Own the operating rhythm of the firm — standups, sprint reviews, client reporting cadences, and leadership offsites

  • Manage principal communications, calendar, and inbound pipeline on a day-to-day basis

  • Track active client engagements and ensure delivery milestones are met, flagged, or escalated appropriately

  • Lead hiring coordination — from sourcing and screening to offer letters — as we continue to grow the team

  • Build and maintain internal documentation, SOPs, and knowledge management systems

  • Prepare briefing materials, board-level summaries, and internal strategy documents on behalf of principal leadership

What You Bring
  • 5–10 years in an operator role — Chief of Staff, COO, Head of Operations, or equivalent at a growing firm

  • Prior experience at a fast-moving startup, management consultancy, or high-growth technology company

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication — you draft, edit, and send on behalf of the firm

  • Strong project management instincts with experience coordinating concurrent, cross-functional workstreams

  • Discretion and emotional intelligence — you operate daily with sensitive client and business information

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, frequent context-switching, and the occasional early-morning message from a client in another timezone

The Terms

This is the most senior operational role in the company. The package reflects that:

  • Compensation: $175,000–$240,000 USD base salary + equity participation from Year 1

  • Role Type: Full-time, permanent employee

  • Scope: Second-most senior operational role in the firm, reporting directly to principal leadership

  • Location: Remote-first; regular travel to client sites and quarterly team offsites required

  • Start: As soon as possible — we needed this person yesterday
